Here is the continuation of picture story of Toldin's Second Edition, "steel" litter .  They are gaining weight and are two weeks old today. All of the puppies eyes are open now and they are walking around the whelp box... OK, wobbling :) We have done the "great tin pie plate experiment" today and they passed with flying colors. Couple of them wanted to just lay there and sleep, clearly NOT stressed from being in tin pie plate on the kitchen table, but not for long.. Since their ears should open soon, I have been playing music for them. Today's choice was Vivaldi and some Verdi. We are enjoying it, hopefully, puppies can feel the good vibes from the music too.

the great "tin pie plate" experiment

I have finally purchased tin pie plate today. We have been using glass one. In the development exercises for newly born puppies, putting them onto strange surfaces and see how they react is one of the exercises. I have had only glass up to today, so we bought a "proper" tin pie plate and set out to test the puppies with it on our kitchen table. Well, first we weighed them, played with them a bit and then we put them into the pie plate to see how they react. Will they panic, be stressed, relaxed, sleep in, how long will it take them to climb out? Well here are the pictures of it and timing of how long it took them to climb out. No stress, no panic, no rush. Maybe it's that Vivaldi! :)

Here is Miss Pink in the pie plate! First she got sniffed by her aunt Tyler. Tyler is fascinated with the puppies and is constantly trying to get into the whelp area. She has to wait for a  few weeks, before we let her play with the puppies.   Miss Pink relaxed in the plate and in about 30 seconds decided to climb out. No panic there!

Miss Purple decided she didn't like to be on the pie plate for too long and just climbed out right away.

Miss Orange checked out the surroundings

and there she goes!

Miss Yellow was out of before we could turn the camera back on! Well,  she can see where she is going now, so what's holding her?

Let me get out of here immediately. I can see you and I am coming!

Now, Mr. Red liked it in the pie dish. He did get comfortable for a few seconds....

....then he thought about if for about 1/2 minute and then...

decided to step out!

Mr. Green was very fast. About 15 seconds before he decided to climb out. Then he went to the bathroom on the towel, hence no more pictures.... busy elsewhere... :)

Miss White was not quite sure if she should lay down, climb out...

.

She decided to wait it out for about 20 seconds...

... then decided to head out also.

and finally it is Mr. Blue's turn. (in case you are wondering why he is last puppy everywhere, it is because he eats the longest .....

....so he tried sleeping on the edge, but decided to head out also in about 20 seconds.

I think they should come up with something more challenging for Vizslas! These puppies were not stressed, did not panic, didn't mind the tin surface and all of them knew when they wanted to get out, how to do it!

Milk bar line up! & Unusual snacks

Steel loves watermelon.
Ever since her last litter she loves it! So on occasion, she gets some cool, crispy watermelon served on crystal plate! She sure deserve the extra attention, she is awesome mom!

Milk bar line up.
We found them sleeping like this tonight, lined up like they were waiting for Steel to come and lay down to feed them. Some of them weren't sure which side....
