WEEK 1 - Visit

I have warned you! Eating and sleeping are the main activities of the puppies now. They are crawling more and faster around the whelp box, sleeping on their backs, stretching and they give out soft sounds (sounds to me like little dolphins) when they are eating, which is most of the time. We started the massages and stimulations on day 3. We tickle them between toes with cue tips, let them stand on a wet towel and handle them every day for a few minutes. One of the stimulation is putting puppy into shallow pie pan (we use glass) and watch their reaction when confronted with this unusual surface and restriction. I am proud to say that none of them panicked or looked stressed, most of them crawled out within few minutes and couple of them needed a nudge from Steel to wake up after they fell asleep in the plate and then they crawled out. She got into the game after a few minutes - she was little concerned at the start, but then she laid down on the carpet by the pie plate and watched puppies with me not touching them unless I asked her to! She looked like she was enjoying this as much as I did. They are gaining weight and some of the girls are catching up with the boys! Check out the weight chart on the stats page. Since they are 1 week old, we will be cutting their nails today also, you won't believe how long they are getting. 

1st visitors
Alex and Stephanie, Hudson's parents came to pick him up this weekend (we will miss that clown around here, what a sweet dog he is!) and puppies had their first visitors. Steel was always watching, but she remembers Alex and Stephanie from their first time around.  Steel was all kisses and tail wags and didn't mind us handling her babies at all.
