Few of the last meals from

4 weeks - Oct 19-26 So puppies are now 4 weeks old and are running around, biting each other, eating mushy food and also eating paper that they potty on. They have all gained almost 6 lbs. since they were born and you can see the weight chart on the main puppy page. They are very alert and wag their tails at all that they see at the edge of the box. They are playing with toys, they like the 'hangman', they lay on their backs and try to catch the swinging toy with their paws and mouth. They love their tennis balls and most of all they like to bite each other. Ears, bellies, sometimes they bark with this funny high pitch voices. Steel goes into the box with them few times a day, but she doesn't feed them any longer - she allows them few gulps, here and there - otherwise they are on their own. Now we are their source of food, so they come running to "...Puppy, Puppy..." and wake up if they are asleep. I am amazed at the quantity of newspapers we use every day, especially since I am so fanatical and cover every little drop of moisture. It feels like I am standing at the box with newspaper on hand all day. Hence the tardiness with pictures this week. I should have told all our families that they can't show up at our house to see puppies without plenty of newspapers. Oh well, next time it will be in the contract! :) Ian and Denise and Erin and John came to visit puppies this past weekend, so puppies had lots of hugs and cuddles. Silken is our tester. If she sits on person's lap (preferably falls asleep in that person's lap) as they visit with puppies, they passed the test. So far she had passed everyone! We also had some children visitors and both, puppies and kids enjoyed the experience! I have some cute pictures from that visit on this page. Puppies had their first OUTSIDE experience yesterday. It was still sunny and warm, so I took them one by one out side on the porch to smell the roses. Well the fall mums and my herb garden. They all enjoyed that - they looked around a lot - first time seeing the wide, wide world. They have their nails cut again yesterday as well and they stack on the grooming table and let me fool around with them. They are starting to be so much fun now. I can't believe than in the few short weeks they will be going home. I hope you guys are getting ready! They are a lively bunch - as the horoscope said! :):) |
